Originally released in December of '81 (and produced until June '86), the BOSS CS-2 is a no-nonsense compression pedal that utilizes a VCA - as opposed to the photocouplers which the original CS-1 employed, improving the attack of the compressor and overall signal processing. The compression quality from this pedal is top-notch, and the sustain you can get from it is truly impressive for such an old model. This example has certainly seen its fair share of gigs, but BOSS is known for sturdiness and reliability - so we have no doubt that this CS-2 has plenty more gigs left in it.
