Eric Clapton began his relationship with Martin back in 1995 with the introduction of the 000-42EC. Over the years, a couple other signature limited edition runs of instruments followed to celebrate Clapton and his many amazing contributions to music. One of the more notable runs he introduced with Martin was the 2000 Limited Edition Eric Clapton 000-42ECB model. This special edition guitar was limited to only 200 instruments, constructed using carefully selected high grade Brazilian rosewood for the back and sides, Engelmann spruce for the top, solid V-shaped mahogany neck, ebony fret boards and 45 style appointments. Along with a couple other special features, all instruments were numbered sequentially 1 though 200 and signed by Eric Clapton himself.
