There are not many cars with histories as rich as the Jeep Wrangler—dating back to its inception during World War II, where it was initially developed as the Willys MB for military use. Post-war, the Jeep continued to evolve, becoming an American automotive symbol and cultural icon. Over the decades, the Jeep Wrangler has maintained its core characteristics—off-road capability, durability, and versatility—while adapting to changing consumer demands yet continuing to represent freedom, adventure, and the spirit of exploration.

In 2006, to celebrate its 65th anniversary, Jeep released a special edition of the Wrangler that honored its heritage while simultaneously looking towards the future. Limited to only 1,600, the 2006 Jeep Wrangler 65th Anniversary Edition pulled inspiration from the original WWII-era Jeeps, blending vintage styling cues with modern features. This edition featured unique exterior accents, such as 15” Alcoa aluminum wheels, body colored fender flares, a 65th Anniversary decal and more. Inside, this collectable Wrangler benefitted from a redesigned center console, which housed a Kenwood head-unit that mated to a 7-speaker sound system, as well as two-tone Black & Grey seats sporting a 65th Anniversary patch.
