The Fuzz Master General Pedal from EarthQuaker Devices takes its cues from two popular vintage octave fuzzes, delivering a huge spectrum of fuzz tones that are easily controlled and manipulated via its user-friendly interface. The Fuzz Master General offers three modes: Germanium clipping, Silicon clipping, and open transistor drive, each with their own unique voice and each customizable via the tone and fuzz pedals. If you're looking for a nuanced, stylish fuzz pedal, look no further than the Fuzz Master General.
The Fuzz Master General is EarthQuaker's take on the vintage Ace Tone Fuzz Master FM-2 Professional fuzz machine, an octave fuzz that was very similar to the wildly popular Super Fuzz. The Fuzz Master General features a more accurate Fuzz control that delivers a much broader spectrum of dirt tones ranging from nearly clean through full buzz saw assault. Its germanium diodes offer more output and an open, looser fuzz tone while the silicon diodes compress the signal and yield a tighter fuzz tone. The Fuzz Master General delivers a more versatile version of the original while still retaining the same swelling octave grind we all know and love. The pedal features 3 different modes, switchable through the Voice toggle. Mode 1 is Germanium clipping, Mode 2 is Silicon clipping, and Mode 3 is open, pure transistor drive. The 3 modes work together with the Tone, Fuzz, and Level knobs to produce a wide array of tones.
