Rolex Datejust, Ref. 16013 Circa 1984

Introduced in 1945, the Rolex Datejust quickly became one of the most iconic watches of the era—and of all time. Often hailed as the best-selling watch in the brand’s history, the Datejust has captivated audiences with its simplistic and elegant design, and of course, with its defining feature, the automatically changing date display at the 3 o’clock position. Throughout the years, Rolex continuously refined the Datejust, and in the early 1980s, introduced the reference 16013. A quintessential example of the brand’s signature two-tone “Rolesor” construction, the 16013 pairs a stainless steel case with an 18k yellow gold fluted bezel, striking the perfect balance between sport and sophistication. Powered by the Rolex caliber 3035 movement, this reference benefits from the Quickset Date function, allowing for effortless date adjustments independent of the time-setting mechanism, as well as a hacking seconds feature for precise time synchronization.
