ABOUT THE ARTIST ANTHONY BROWN
Anthony Brown was born in Liverpool on New Year’s Day 1961.
He is an artist, graphic designer, illustrator and musician who has earned international respect and acknowledgement.
His work moves freely between contemporary and abstract art in any medium - to graphic design, photography, sculpture, branding and illustration.
Music will always continue to be a major influence on his art.
In 2006 the launch of his majestic and highly emotive art exhibition ‘100 Heads Thinking As One’ drew immense interest and acclaim and has been displayed in exhibition, newspapers, magazines, books and on television.
Since then Anthony & his work have become part of the UK Art Education syllabus, with many Schools, Colleges and Universities studying his work and technique as part of their exam (A Level) and coursework.
His restless curiosity and excitement with art continues to drive him in exploration of the ‘new’ and his portfolio of work has been described as ‘Brilliantly Original’, ‘Wonderfully
Eclectic’ and ‘Genius’. 2011 saw the start of a new multimedia project dedicated to the Armed Forces,
‘The Soldiers Story’. The first work in this collection, 'A Portrait Of Wilfred Owen' was unveiled and displayed at
Liverpool Cathedral in November 2011 with a further exhibition at Manchester Cathedral in November 2015.
2012 saw the birth of a special project: Anthony Brown ‘Living Art’ Mann Island Liverpool Waterfront.
This project offered a rare ‘access all areas’ viewing as he worked within the fabulous, glass walled building, on Liverpool’s waterfront - developing themes & works that reflected his inspirational surroundings.
Anthony has recently produced a series of oil & mixed media paintings of a number of music’s greatest icons including John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and David Bowie.
The latest commission, ‘A Quantum Timeline of Lime Street’ is truly unique and is ‘the largest canvas’ to be displayed within any city. Completed and unveiled in 2018 it features a series of 11 giant Artworks etched into steel that will span the length of Lime Street in the centre of the City of Liverpool as a permanent public art exhibition.
