Introduced in 1955, the GMT Master was initially developed in collaboration with Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) to meet the needs of pilots crossing multiple time zones. Its standout feature was the 24-hour rotating bezel, allowing wearers to track a second time zone simultaneously. The model gained fame as the official watch of Pan Am pilots and became synonymous with the golden age of air travel.

Throughout the evolution of the GMT Master, subtle changes to the case, dial, hands and lume were not uncommon. The reference 16710, quickly became a staple within the brand’s sport model line up. Nicknamed the “Coke” after its distinctive black & red color-way on the bezel, the 16710 has remained one of the most collectable and recognizable dive watches to date.

Our 1981 Rolex GMT-Master 16710 “Coke", is a vintage gem that showcases a wonderful amount of period patina and charm. Complete with its original box and papers, this “Coke” is in excellent overall condition.
