Beautiful from top to bottom example of a 1961 Super 400 CES with factory Varitone - Stereo feature. This guitar, stamped with 1959 Factory Order Number S2964 1, is also the first year the Varitone was offered. It reflects common specs of that year including a rounded cutaway and solid maple back. It was apparently finished up and shipped in 1961 with serial number A 32895, also having one Patient Number pickup installed, which was introduced in 1961. The original pick guard is in a very much crumbled state, common for the material these guards were made in the era, but is included inside the case. This guitar has been taken care very well over the years and displays stellar craftsmanship, plays amazing and has all the great tonal charm these boxes are known and sought out for. Comes complete with original brown case. Please email or call for additional info.
