1964 Porsche 356 C | Irish Green

The 356 was the first full production car to wear the Porsche name. Ferry Porsche built the original in 1948 in a Gmünd sawmill, and by the time production ended in 1965 roughly 76,000 had been made in Zuffenhausen. It was light, aerodynamic, and air-cooled.

The C trim arrived in 1964 as the one of the final evolutions of the 356. Every C featured four-wheel disc brakes —a first for both the model and brand. The 1,600cc motor was a huge bump from the previous generations and produced 75HP, right out of the box. Aside from increased going and stopping power, C production saw the lowest production numbers (16,700) out of its older siblings (A=21k & B=30k).

Photographed here, our 1964 C Coupe is finished it is original specification of Irish Green over a Black interior. It appears to have had only one repaint—in 2020—and remained with its original owner all the way from June of 1964 to 2019. In 2025 it was added to a South Florida collection and has since received a Porsche Technical Certificate—confirming a number’s matching powertrain and more. Overall, this is one of the best C coupes that we have seen and it presents and drives exceptionally well.
