Look at the bottom of the dial and you'll see why collectors chase this one: "200m=660ft," with the meters printed ahead of the feet. Rolex only ran that order for a short window before flipping it, and the "Meters First" 5513s from the late 1960s are the ones people hold out for. This example wears its age honestly — creamy, evenly aged lume plots against a matte black dial, a bezel that's softened to a warm charcoal, and a case that still holds its lines.
Under the no-date dial sits the caliber 1520, the workhorse automatic that made the 5513 the Submariner of choice for anyone who wanted the tool without the complication. Screw-down crown, 200 meters of water resistance, and the 40mm Oyster case that set the template every dive watch since has borrowed from.
We've paired it on an olive leather strap that leans into the vintage character. This is a no-date Submariner with the right dial detail and the kind of patina you can't order.
