1983 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalve - Rosso Corsa

A mid-engine, lightweight sports car, has been an iconic model for Ferrari for over 50 years. Beginning in the early ‘70s with the original Dino, whose design would ultimately pave the way its successors—such as the 308, 328, 348 and beyond.

First unveiled to the world in 1975, the 308 was a revolutionary model that brought the mid-engine layout to the forefront of brand's lineup. With inspiration clearly pulled from its Dino predecessor, the 308 received a massive power upgrade to a 3.0L naturally aspirated V8—opposed to the Dino’s V6. Offered in both North American and European markets, with key differences primarily centered around emissions regulations and safety standards.

North American-spec cars were equipped with a smaller-displacement engine and less aggressive tuning to comply with U.S. emissions laws, while European models benefited from a more potent engine and unrestricted performance. The 308's design and performance made it an instant classic, with its sleek Pininfarina bodywork appearing on screen in Magnum PI, National Lampoons Vacation, Billy Madison, Beverly Hills Cop and more.

Famously owned since 2008 by world-renowned, Swedish guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen, who is known for his unique infusion of classical playing into metal/rock guitar, making him one of the pioneers of the Neoclassical rock movement, has owned and daily-driven Rosso Corsa over Tan Ferraris since the mid 1980s.
