To fit an automatic chronograph movement, Tudor designed a case that was noticeably thicker than those built for hand-wound chronographs that came before—giving the 79260 its nickname, “Big Block”.
Inside is the self-winding Valjoux 7750, the same engine that drives half of the serious chronographs of the era, and the case that houses it is stamped "Original Oyster Case by Rolex" on the back — the Tudor Rolex lineage, right where you'd expect it.
This one is the panda configuration everyone wants. A crisp white dial, three black sub-registers, an Oysterdate window at 3, and a black tachymeter bezel. It’s the Tudor answer to the Daytona, at a fraction of the entry price, and increasingly recognized as one of the smartest buys in vintage chronographs.
