Initially created for explorers and adventurers, the Explorer was originally inspired by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay’s 1953 Everest expedition. The 1016 model featured a 36mm stainless steel case, a highly legible black dial with luminous 3-6-9 hour markers, and an automatic movement—all tailored to withstand extreme conditions.
