Rolex Sea-Dweller Ref. 16660 Circa 1991

Introduced to the world in 1967, the Rolex Sea-Dweller was specifically designed with professional divers in mind. From its innovative helium escape valve to the impressive water resistance, the Sea-Dweller quickly gained a well-deserved reputation for the true tool watch that it is.

At the forefront an evolutionary milestone for the Sea-Dweller, lies the reference number 16600—produced from 1988 to 2008. With improvements such as a sapphire crystal, enhanced water resistance up to 1,220 meters (4,000 feet) and the iconic Triplock winding crown, the 16600 truly created a multi-tool out of an already legendary diver’s watch.

Photographed here, our 1991 Rolex Sea-Dweller, reference 16600, is in excellent overall condition and is accompanied by its original box and papers. The dial is crisp and the Tritium markers are starting to show beautiful patina that will only get richer with age.
