Introduced in 1961, the International Harvester Scout was one of the earliest vehicles to define what we now know as the SUV—predating many of its competitors. Produced by International Harvester, the Scout quickly earned a reputation for durability and off-road capability.
By 1971, the introduction of the International Harvester Scout II refined the concept with improved comfort, updated styling, and a wider range of engine and drivetrain options. While still firmly rooted in utility, the Scout II brought a more polished driving experience, helping it compete more directly with emerging rivals while retaining the no-nonsense character that defined the original.
This 1974 Scout II tells a particularly unique story, having spent its life with a single family in Colombia before being imported in 2025. Originally finished in burgundy, it underwent a restoration last year, during which it was refinished in the period-correct Jade Green Metallic. Well cared for throughout its life, it presents as a clean, honest example that is ready to be enjoyed for generations to come.
