This is a Gibson SG, extensively reworked and custom built by Josh Grove of Protocaster Guitars in Brooklyn, NY. Josh is a true artist and is becoming highly sought after for his incredible finish work and masterful touch when it comes to makeovers such as this. Google "Protocaster" for more examples of his outstanding work. This guitar began as a late model Gibson SG Classic, chosen specially for it's fantastic full C neck profile. Josh stripped the guitar of its original finish and hardware before performing the following modifications:
- Partially filled the existing swimming pool route
- Refinished the guitar in 100% non-catalyzed nitrocellulose lacquer.
- Wings and inlay added to headstock
- Tulip tuners, maestro vibrato (currently locked down) installed
- Mojo Tone '56 Quiet Coil P90s
- Emerson/Switchcraft 50s wiring kit
- Finish and hardware aged to perfection - finish has lots of authentic checking.
