Is there any more of an iconic watch than the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch?…
Famously known as the first watch worn on the moon, during NASA's Apollo 11 mission in 1969, the Speedmaster was launched in 1957 as a chronograph designed for auto-racing enthusiasts. Its overall construction and precision is what turned heads at NASA—ultimately making it, THE astronaut's watch.
Introduced in 1968, reference number 145.022 featured several key updates, including the use of the famous Caliber 861 movement, which replaced the earlier Caliber 321. The 145.022 also marked the transition from the "pre-Moon" era to the "Moonwatch” era.
Photographed here, our 1969 Omega Speedmaster Professional “Moonwatch” is in impeccable overall condition. Its tritium markers are largely in-tact while the dial remains sharp and legible. The bracelet is complete and shows nice patina for its age.
