Rolex Datejust Ref. 1601, Circa 1971/72

Initially launched in 1945, the Rolex Datejust was among the first self-winding wristwatches to display the date in a window on the dial. Throughout the years, the Datejust has stood strong as a benchmark of stylish reliability.

The reference number 1601 represents a significant chapter for the Datejust. Featuring a number of refinements, such as the introduction of the Caliber 1570 movement and a wide array of dials to choose from. The 1601 is the reference number that has remained at the top of Vintage and Modern Classic collectors “must-haves” ford decades.

Photographed here, our 1971/2 Rolex Datejust 1601 is in fantastic overall condition. With a unique grey dial and the accompaniment of its original box and papers, this particular Datejust is one of the most complete that we’ve seen to date.
