Founded  in the early 1940s in California, when Leo Fender was building amps and simple instruments with a practical goal: make gear that just works. In the ’50s, the Telecaster and Stratocaster showed up and changed the sound of electric guitar music across every genre that followed. It’s straightforward design ended up shaping how the electric guitar is still played today.
